IC5070 pertenece a la constelación de Cygnus
IC 5070, es la nebulosa del Pelícano, forma parte de un complejo de regiones de formación estelar HII que también incluye a la nebulosa Norteamericana o NGC 7000 situadas un par de grados al NE de la estrella Deneb. Si bien hay que dejar claro que NGC 7000 está unos 800 años luz más alejado de nosotros que IC 5070.

Es un objeto muy bonito de astrofotografiar pues observaremos nubes claras de colores rosáceos y verdosos mezcladas con zonas oscuras, hay varias, pero es inconfundible una protubernacia oscura alargargada y que apunta a una eyección o nueva formación de estrellas.
